Hello,

I am interested in a checkin feature that would allow users to checkin in a hotel (created as a specific user profile in EasySocial).

Would that work with the GeoCheckin extension ?

Or should the venues (hotel, museums, bars) be created not as EasySocial users but as K2 articles?

Yes, you can checkin in K2 (or Joomla but k2 recommended) venues.

and checking in in EasySocial users of profile Type (created) "venues" would required custom code but possible?

No, It would require a totally different extension.
Probably simpler, as ES venuas allready have an address field and coordinates.
