Is it possible to use comma or point inside tags? was created by viada

Dear all:
We have been trying to create tags related to sizes in meters having decimal.
disafortunatelly it is not possible to use commas (they are used to separate different tags) or points(resulting urls are not working in deed).
some examples
es.viada.net/es/carpas-plegables
es.viada.net/es/etiqueta/productslist/4.5x3
Is it possible to scape those special chars?
TAGS we wish we could have:
4,5 x 3m
3.5 x 3.5m

Finally used accent sign " ` ".
It looks quite american for a european user so it would be more SEO friendly use "." or "," instead.
Anyway this is graphically acceptable...
It would be great to use any kind of scape sign to let us have this simbols inside tags (for instance: \. or \,)
anyway, it is a good tag plugin.

Unfortunately using / will hardly be possible as it would be missinterpreted in a url
