jEvents Maps & Itineraries Installation

All the 3 extensions provided in the archive you get have to be installed via the regular Joomla installer.

Installer

Note that mod_jevents_batch_geocode.zip might not be required if you don't have any event yet in your site. This is an admin module to process Geocoding on older events added befor you added and used the plg_jevents_jevgeocoder.zip.

The first extension that should be installed (not mandatory but map would not makes sense) is the plg_jevents_jevgeocder.zip. This plugin's settings are located in your backens plugins manager under the jevents folder. This plugin is called when adding or editing an event. When the form is submitted, it translates the event location into latitude and longitude coordinates via Google Geocoder API (and eventually Yahoo's if Google's doesn't get any result) and stores these in the database for the mod_jevents_maps to use.

The second extension you might want to install if you have older events in your site, is the mod_jevents_batch_geocode.zip. This one installs via the regular Joomla installer, but it is an admin module. It doesn't show on the front end , but should be published on cpanel module position to show on the admin control panel page. You will find the module in the admin module manager page, but make sure you select the administration.

The 3rd and last extension is mod_jevents_maps.zip it is a front end module. It installs too via the regular joomla extensions installer and you can find its settings in the backend module manager. This module will show a map of events with itinerearies according to its settings.
