[solved] Plugin doesn't work when About is selected as default page

Hi there,

WVMP works perfectly when a member views another profile. However, the "view" only registers if they view the members timeline.
If the profile pages are set so that the "About" section is default, the "view" isn't recorded unless the member also navigates to the timeline view.
Since most members won't do this, profile "views' are not being recorded.

I realize that this is most likely done to prevent multiple views from being recorded, but we need it to work so that a view of the profile "about" page should also trigger the view. Or at least that the default profile view (Timeline or About) should be used for this.

We are using EasySocial 2.1.3

Well the visits counter is set as a profile widget (on the left column).
Isn't that part loading when the profile loads the about page?
Can you post a link or a screenshot?

Its doesn't seem like they do.
The about page only has a list of profile statistics on the left.

OK so the plugin doesn' count there, it simply can't.
What you'd need is an additional system plugin that loads also on this about page and counts.

How would we go about doing that?
Can we not modify the existing plugin to simply point to work on the about page instead of the timeline page?

No it's not a limitation of the plugin, but EasySocial.
It's not loading plugins there.
The existing plugin would still be required for displaying the data and charts, and enough if the timeline is the default view, but not in your case.
