I am on PHP 7.4.3 and MySql 8.0.20-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 and 1.1.13 and still get the SQL error. How did this fix for you?

I am no specialist here, but replacing id, rank with * in line 143 seems to work. Is this the correct solution?

Nice catch
Rank is a reserved word in mySql 8.0.2+
dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/keywords.html
So yes, replacing id, rank with a * is an acceptable fix

Also needs to be replaced on line 200, 211
