Yes SEF is supported, no worries.
If the ID is the one from main vendor, it seems to be related to the fact that you created these vendors from the main vendor account.
In VMVendor, users create their vendor accounts by themselves.

Check in the #__virtuemart_vendors table in phpmyadmin that the created_by columns doesn't have 319 as value, but the real user id of the vendor.

Yes, it seems that it makes sense, the vendors are created by main vendor.
