You should have a field for state
and unpublish the CB field if you don't use it.

If I have a new registration is always ERROR 500, no matter what GEOGODE setting.

If I update a profile and select "on every profile update", the error message "Error 500"

We can not reproduce this error on CB1.9 and Joomla 3.
Does your server have CURL enabled?
